M2000-Nx NEMA 4X (IP66) Hand-held Industrial Motion Controller:
January 5, 2010: CTI Electronics Corporation introduces a new line of man machine interface devices called the M2000-Nx Series hand-held Industrial Motion Controller. These rugged NEMA 4X (IP66) sealed analog controllers are designed for use as an operator interface in industrial environments for precision motion control of numerous analog devices including DC motor control, Stepper Motors, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC's), etc.
The M2000-Nx Series is a Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) product which is readily manufactured based upon a customer's individual specifications.

The NEMA 4X (IP66) stainless steel enclosure is designed for limited-space applications; it features a gasket sealed bottom plate with rubber feet to prevent movement or slippage on dirty, wet, surfaces. With an 8 pin NEMA 4 (IP66) connection (Shell and Plug) it provides X and Y axis voltage outputs, center voltage reference, and optional one or two pushbutton voltage outputs. A variety of Input/Output Voltage selections (+5V, +10V, +12V, +24V, ±5V, ±10V, ±12V Inputs) are provided to encompass a broad range of applications spanning Industrial, Medical, and Military markets. Its design is the perfect solution where washing off of debris, harsh oils and/or abrasive chemicals is required.

The M2000-Nx Series has all the features of the Industrial Mouse™ family, and with optional one or two pushbuttons on the joystick it allows the operator to conveniently perform controlled functions; while wearing heavy duty gloves. A selection of eight different joystick knobs allows for unlimited possibilities to suit your applications' unique needs. (Joystick options include Conformal Coating of PCB to protect against rapid changes in temperature or high humidity environments. Low Temperature Components to survive and operate in -40ºC to +80ºC temperature range. Also, these joysticks can be manufactured with an electrical “Safety” indicator known as the Optical Neutral Switch which is activated upon spring return to center.)

Trackball with Newly Redesigned Electro-Optical Encoder:
November 25, 2009: Each high-reliability trackball from CTI Electronics utilizes newly redesigned electro-optical encoders, patent pending. Additionally, these new electro-optical encoders feature a redundant photo-detector and light path to monitor the encoder LED light output.

A novel circuit uses this light-intensity feedback signal to ensure that the quadrature output withstands the test of time— without compromising performance. Not only do our trackballs offer very high encoder wheel resolution, they also provide long-term reliability and durability.

In that CTI is building its own optical encoder, as opposed to purchasing a photo-detector sensor, customers can be assured of not only lasting reliability, but also long-term availability. This is especially important in products that require regulatory approvals, have long-term market requirements, or would be costly to redesign should an off-the-shelf photo-detector become obsolete.

Our strategy is to produce all of the key sensors used in our products, allowing CTI to regulate quality, reliability and long-term availability.

KIT6000 - Sealed Industrial Keyboard w/ 1.3” Trackball:
CTI Electronics introduces its compact, NEMA 12, sealed keyboard with integral 1.3" high-reliability industrial trackball, in a painted aluminum enclosure. A drain-hole below the industrial trackball allows water to exit at the button; a feature which allows the trackball to be rated NEMA 12. This sealed keyboard provides full
101/104 functionality, and offers full size keys made of molded silicone rubber with 2mm travel, excellent tactile feel, and hard gold contacts for high reliability. The enclosure has a footprint of just 6.1" x 11.3" and a total depth of 1.6"; allowing it to be used in standard 1U (1.75"high) rack-mount drawers or other tight applications.
The industrial trackball has a formed teflon sealing ring in an iodized aluminum collar. This sealed trackball uses CTI's redundant photo-detector technology, as well as shielded aerospace bearings, hardened stainless steel shafts, and an encoder resolution of 416 counts per revolution.
The sealed keyboard is plug and play, compatible with all computers, and comes with various options including a model with ten levels of back-lighting; a valuable feature in dimly lit environments. In addition, the enclosure's bottom plate has two 6-32 threaded mounting holes; for easily securing the keyboard to a shelf or bracket.

This new illuminated keyboard is port compatible and provides 10 levels of back light intensity controlled from the keyboard, without the need for external power sources. A simple connection to the host computer is all that is required for complete operation.
Versions are available for OEM, as an open frame keyboard, or for Workstation applications with a fully sealed metal enclosure.
The NEMA 4 (IP66) rated industrial keyboards are constructed of custom molded silicon keys with 2mm travel and excellent tactile feel, and each key has hard gold plated contacts for reliability. Key legends are fused into each key for long life and abrasion resistance. Custom key legends and key codes are available in OEM quantities.
For superior reliability, only gold plated interconnects are used for all internal and external keyboard connections.

CTI Electronics expands its line of rugged F-Series miniature industrial joysticks, the original Industrial Mouse™, by developing CTI's USB device driver interface for pointing devices. USB FlightStick offers real-time response rates with acute accuracy and high reliability.
With complete freedom of movement, users simply plug-in and move the USB FlightStick in the desired direction for device control. Long-term durability of these joysticks, rated for over 10 million deflections, is achieved with the use of non-contacting inductive technology. All joysticks offer smooth travel and excellent precision control. The joystick's superior environmental sealing, to NEMA 4 (IP66), eliminates moisture and dirt contaminants.
The new pointing devices, designed for industrial and medical applications, are available for OEM's, as a USB Flightstick, or the ready-to-integrate USB Industrial Mouse™. These devices are also available for the end-user in a hand-held or desktop stainless steel enclosure.
