OEM Industrial Trackball Sub-Assemblies

T6000 OEM TrackballT7000 OEM Trackball T4000 OEM Trackball

CTI' OEM industrial trackballs are manufactured with high grade aerospace materials to ensure long life. With a standard operating temperature range of -25⁰C to +80⁰C (-13⁰F to +176⁰F) there is no equal available anywhere in the world today. What makes these industrial trackballs really special are the dual optical encoders with gold coated optical pipes to prevent signal loss over time (decades) as LED intensity changes, stainless steel shafts, and ABEC bearings. The ball itself is made of a proprietary mineral material (very high density) with an aluminum housing that withstands expansion/contraction constraints over an extended operating range of -40⁰C to +80⁰C (-40⁰F to +176⁰F).
Long term durability is guaranteed through the use of the highest quality materials and components which also ensures the highest reliability over the broadest operating temperature range. The electrical MTBF is rated for 100,000+ hours (MIL-HDBK-217F rating) due to the electrical components, that's over 10 years of reliable service. CTI' industrial trackball is the only choice when reliability is critical™ to the success of your application.

T6XXX Series 1.3" (33mm) OEM Industrial Trackball

1.3" (33mm) Diameter OEM Trackball Sub-Assembly

Product Information

The T6XXX OEM industrial trackball sub-assembly is offered to OEMs and Systems Integrators requiring the highest caliber of reliability. These devices provide a NEMA 12 (IP54) sealing rating and are typically used as a mouse pointing device in a semi-clean environment. CTIs rugged trackballs have either a Delrin housing with an operating temperature of 0°C to +70°C or -25°C to +80°C or a special an aluminum housing with an operating temperature of -40°C to +80°C. The ball is created using specialty compounded materials, in a proprietary manufacturing process, producing an unrivaled rollerball with respect to its inertia, homogeneous density, and ability to withstand expansion/contraction issues over extreme temperature ranges. The rollerball is secured within the housing by a formed Teflon sealing ring and a machined aluminum mounting collar.

The T6XXX 1.3 inch (33mm) diameter industrial trackballs have a shock resistance of 100g. These trackballs are aerospace grade quality due to the inclusion of ABEC 7 shielded bearings and stainless steel shafts which allow for 100,000+ hours of usage and are therefore rated to the MIL-HDBK-217F standard. The T6XXX Series industrial trackball mounts with four screws and occupies just 0.86" (21.84mm) of below panel depth. The new optical encoder outputs provide a quadrature signal available via a ribbon cable terminated by a ten-pin connector with standard 0.1" (2.54mm) spacing for easy connection to a PCB.

Optionally, the T6XXX is available with a digital interface PCB offering USB or RS-422/RS-485 interfaces. On the C60U0-C82 and C6020-C91 PCB's is a 6 pin header which offers the OEM and Systems Integrator the ability to wire one of CTIs NEMA 4 (IP66) sealing OEM three button switchpad assemblies for left, middle and right mouse button functionality,

Power requirements are 5VDC at 40mA maximum. The encoder resolution is 416 counts.

Typical markets for CTIs rugged trackballs has been in areas where long term usage and reliability are paramount, such as the medical, military, and aerospace markets. Other commercial and industrial markets which required a NEMA 4 (IP66) sealing mouse pointing device have typically opted for CTIs OEM Arrow Mouse™, Industrial Mouse™, or Orbital Mouse® products.

CTI's custom OEM trackballs are ruggedized to meet aerospace, medical, and military standards. CTI's OEM trackballs can meet MIL-STD-167-1, MIL-STD-901D, MIL-STD-461F, MIL-STD-810G, and MIL-HDBK-217F. These OEM trackballs are able to withstand vibration, shock, high EMI/RFI levels, compliant for humidity, fungus, spray, and MTBF is greater than 100,000 hours.

Thank you for selecting CTIs industrial computer peripheral products. As our customer you will discover the long term benefit and value that is designed into all of CTIs human machine interface devices. The robust design and quality craftsmanship produces a level of reliability and durability that is a step above any so-called competitive "industrial grade" device. We pride ourselves in the fact that our designs have withstood the test of time. We are constantly innovating and adapting, using the best materials and technologies available today. It's reflected in the products, which can operate from one extreme temperature range to another within moments, protect against harsh chemicals, oils, and bio-hazardous materials, and provide a water tight seal for ingress protection.

We understand that you cannot afford the risk of throwing away or having to constantly repair cheap imitations of so called "industrialized" products. The cost of service interruption, including actual downtime, loss of materials, additional labor costs, loss of actual revenue, will negatively impact your bottom line.

Your return on investment will be recognized through years of uninterrupted service, zero to little maintenance required, reduced labor costs along with employee frustration/aggravation levels, and most importantly your customers' satisfaction.

Commercial off the Shelf (COTS), factory direct, pricing is provided to our clientele which consists of Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), Systems Integrators, and commercial end users from a wide variety of industries such as industrial processing, medical, military, off-road equipment and aerospace. CTI's innovative modular design allows customized solutions to be rapidly prototyped from build to print specifications into a full production rollout. Our technical staff offers free consultative advice as to which manufacturing options are the most appropriate based upon the requirements of the application.
